DESCRIPTION
Something very special has come through the Garage recently. In the mid 200s Ford decided to re-imagine the GT40 race car which dominated LeMans in the mid to late 60s.
The result was the Ford GT. A little over 4000 were built between 2004 and 2006. This particular car came from California where the original owner had it as a display piece in his home. It has around 4000 original miles on it.
Whilst the Ford GT came in a variety of colours, the most sought after schemes are the blue with white stripes, white with blue stripes, and red with white stripes. The more astute among you would notice a pattern in those three specific colours. These three varieties are part of what Ford called their “Heritage Edition”, representing the red, white, and blue of the American flag

Here are some befores and afters. The composite body normally would point to a harder paint like on Corvette, Lotus etc, however the paint was very workable. In fact in terms of finish it is probably the best painted factory car I have ever seen! It was really something else. Ford can really paint a car when they try. Super impressive There were the usual wash induced swirls as well as evidence of previous details (holograms etc)

You can see especially in this photo how even light swirling and hazing can impact gloss and clarity. Even on white paint.

The metallic blue stripes are gorgeous when corrected properly

Even the Ford badge got a correction to give it more clarity

The front of this car was covered in paint protection film when new. It's new owner (my client) had it removed because it had yellowed badly (the adhesive, not the film). Underneath were factory sanding marks not previously corrected out.

More sanding marks

The car had a layer of Kamikaze Infinity Wax applied. The classic lines of the car lend themselves beautifully to a warm carnuba wax glow and Infinity Wax also has a glass coat component which will provide at least two years durability. Probably more as this is by no means a daily driver.

Those blue stripes are now even more striking

An almost vintage shade of white which makes the wax-look even more important than a hard reflective gloss

Those massive tyres sitting on factory BBS rims
