DESCRIPTION
Here is the final Dan’s Garage detail for 2015 and it finishes on a bang…… well actually a twin turbo V8 sledgehammer to be more accurate
The stats on the CLS63 AMG are impressive. A 410kw, 5.5Lt twin turbo V8 with 720nm of torque capable of slingshotting this executive sled to 100kph in 3.7 seconds. Not bad when you consider it’s nearly two tonnes worth of saloon.

Here it is as presented. The last few Melbourne days have been hot, humid, and occasionally rainy, leaving pretty much everything with a layer of dirty waterspots.

After a full wash and decon, the next 18 hours were spent on paint correction alone. Unfortunately this car had had three years of regular visits to the local carwash cafe, during which time the paint was fairly comprehensively and systematically munted. A three stage correction had to be performed and even then there were a lot of scratches, particularly on the rear, which could only be minimised. Opti-Coat Pro+ was used as the coating Here are the befores and afters. This really does highlight in stark reality just how much damage these places cause and why I will never ever recommend their use.

It's worth noting that under these swirls were some very deep scratches. Clearly caused by gritty wash/dry media that was probably dropped on the ground and stepped on a few times before being slapped onto the car to use.

The metallic is now allowed to sing instead of being caught underneath a sea of swirls and deep scratches

Bird poo etching. Fortunately it was able to be completely removed

A 50/50 of the top of the driver side rear door highlighting the damage

The sides were more or less a matte grey with all the wash induced marring. No chance of seeing the metallic at all

The badges were also cleaned up as per usual. Plates were also removed and cleaned and the odd paint touch-up here and there was performed too.

Final pics

The metallic now comes through beautifully
