The BMW as delivered

Its owner was a bit disappointed in the way the car was delivered to him initially. Accepting the fact that it was a demo model with 1500kms on the clock there were a few things here and there which were still a little surprising in terms of the car's condition

Wheels getting a good decon

Tire grease from the fitting of the optional M Sport wheels

Chemical decon of the body. Light ferrous oxidation for the most part. Being a diesel it was a little heavier at the rear of the car

Foam wash

Paint inspection. Overall not too bad. Some buffer trails here and there. The bonnet however had a handful of quite deep scratches

After taking some paint depths and finding an average of mid 130 microns. I decided to do some spot wet sanding to try to minimise or remove the scratches entirely. First round of 2000 grit, we can still see the scratches hanging in there

Second round I managed to get rid of them

Followed up with 2500 grit

and then a two stage foam correction to get this

The black metal trim had some reasonable wear in it

Corrected

Some deeper scratching in the c pillar trim also

Most of it removed. Some only minimised

Tops of the doors. Lots of buffer trails
