DESCRIPTION
This 2010 SLK 300 was purchased last November with less than 10,000kms on the clock. Unfortunately in its time with the first owner though it had been exposed to many carwash cafe washes and also a number of broom washes. When the first owner sold it, the dealership then made things worse by leaving a mess of buffer trails and polish residue across the car. The kicker is that they didn’t actually achieve any correction! All they did was to install buffer trails on top of all the swirls and scratches.
The new owner said that he wasn’t expecting miracles and asked that I do the best I can.
Needless to say, this was going to be a challenge. At least there were good paint levels on the car, with it averaging 180 microns+

For a slightly different perspective, here are two photos of the bonnet under straight fluorescent lighting. This highlights just how grey the black paint had become, groaning under the weight of the damage in it. The metallic was completely obscured and there was no depth or clarity at all. It was more or less a satin finish
Befores and afters. The first stage of correction took a day and a half on its own. Once the swirls and buffer trails were cleared the gnarly deep broom scratches took additional time to clear/minimise.
50/50 of the first stage. If you look closely you can actually see some of the deep longitudinal broom scratches lurking under the swirls and buffer trails. The metallic flake is completely obscured by the marring
Some deeper spot scratches on the front quarter possibly as a result of a cat or possum jumping onto the bonnet
