DESCRIPTION
Carrying on with the JDM theme, here is another rescued icon. The owner of this 6.5 TME has been slowly restoring it back to its factory glory. The rather thin single stage paint didn’t leave a huge amount of wiggle room in terms of correction but the owner understood and appreciated that whilst much of the gloss and clarity could be restored to the paint, there would also be an honest patina that would remain, showing the nearly 20 year history of this car being on the road. Overall I feel a great balance was achieved, making the car look great, whilst not turning it into a show car and still letting the owner feel comfortable enough to drive it as a daily.

Befores and afters. As mentioned these are single stage paint and also caution had to be taken not to be too aggressive with the compounding.
The headlights were badly oxidised. These were cleaned up also
Much time (around three hours) was also spent going around the car and cleaning out years of grime from panel gaps, badges, and various other places
The exhaust pipe was almost an hour alone
